What happens if my regular staff member cannot attend?
Wherever possible you will have the same small team of staff supporting you but sometimes that’s not possible. For instance one of your usual staff member may take holidays or become unwell. In these instances we have other well-trained staff who will continue to provide you with the support you need.
If we need to send another staff member to support you for any reason we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know about the change.
I have complex clinical care needs, can you help me?
Aurora Community has highly trained registered nurses who have skills in bowel and bladder, wound care, pressure area and diabetes care and management. Our staff receive regular training on best practice methods to provide you with the best possible care.
I sometimes feel uncomfortable with new people; will I have the same staff?
We understand that it can take time to form new friendships and relationships. At Aurora Community we make every effort to ensure you have the same staff and pay particular attention to matching workers to clients to make things as easy as possible for you.
What happens if there is an emergency?
Aurora Community provides 24 hour on call emergency assistance should you ever need to contact us in an emergency situation. When you become a Aurora Community participant we work with you to develop an emergency plan that includes important contacts such as family members, your doctor and pharmacy.
We also have procedures in place in the event that an ambulance should be called, as your wellbeing is our priority.
Does Aurora Community outsource staff?
Aurora Community is fortunate to have a very stable and extensive permanent staff. That means you get to know us and we only outsource staff as a last resort; we understand how important that trust relationship is and that’s why we work hard to provide you with consistent staff.
