Veterans' Home Care
Veterans’ Home Care provides low level care and assistance in your home.
Sometimes all you need is a little extra help to stay healthy and independent.
We can help you implement your service plan by providing:
- Domestic assistance like cleaning, washing and ironing, paying bills and unaccompanied shopping
- Ongoing in-home respite care
- Emergency short term in-home respite
- Simple personal care like showering, dressing, personal hygiene and grooming, application of non-medicated creams and stockings
- Safety related home and garden maintenance like replacing light bulbs, changing batteries in smoke or security alarms, cleaning gutters, windows, ceiling fans, basic repairs and one off garden clean ups in specific circumstances.
Eligibility and referrals
The following people are eligible to be assessed for Veteran Home Care services:
- Gold or White Card holders
- People who have eligibility under the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 (VEA)
- Partners or dependants who have eligibility under the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004 (MRCA)
- Some services are available to British Commonwealth and Allied (BCAL).
Co-payments apply for this service.
